Blessed and grateful

Thank you guys so much for the week off!! We played and played and played! We had planned to go to Oregon but in an attempt to not “add to the problem” in Northern California, we opted to stay on the central coast and do all the things we always want to do. Both my husband and I grew up here and have such an appreciation for SLO county. I think we hit up most corners of it in our 7 days off and even found a few places we had never been.

I’m feeling jazzed to be back in the kitchen, it felt pleasant to walk in this morning to soak beans and get back in the groove. I really look forward to being back at it!

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week:

Monday in Baywood and Thursday in Morro Bay and Friday in Cambria:

1. Carrot Ginger

2. Black Bean Homimy

I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars!

Partying

Hey guys! There will be no soup this week cause my husband and I are taking a vacation!! I’ll see you all refreshed and ready to cook next week! Have a lovely week and Thank You for the time off!

Every drop of fun

Oh weekends, must you be so short! There is just so much fun to be had! We took our buddy, John, mountian biking off south bay Blvd this morning and as always, he charged. We met John when we saw him riding around our neighborhood jumping his bike off curbs and downed trees one day and introduced ourselves as big fans of his style. Over time, he has become a staple on our weekend riding program (when he doesn’t have a soccer game, of course).

Anywhoo, Im happy to be heading back to the kitchen to create this week’s soup offerings. Here they are!

Oh, and PS… we’re going on vacation in a week. Ill write more about it on the blog next week.

Scarecrows!!

Its that time of year again in Cambria! This year’s scarecrow festival is well worth the drive up the coast. I think my favorite this year is the giant skeleton cow outside “Seed and Soul”. Conveniently, they also have the best coffee and scones plus beer on tap. Hope to see you guys around town!

All the things

Its that glorious time of year when tables filled with watermellons and tomatoes sit alongside the first pumpkins and winter squash of fall. Its a lovely transition when most everything our California markets have to offer is available (except peaches, cherries and peas). Be sure to come down, breathe in the crisp fall air and enjoy some soup! Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week: Monday in Baywood and Thursday in Morro Bay and Friday in Cambria 1. Kitcharie (mung beans and wild rice) this soup is traditionally prepared with split mung beans but im rebelling and using whole mung beans. Woah. 2. Creamy Turmeric Potato I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars!

Fallll!

Boy! It sure has felt like fall this weekend! Crisp mornings, dry warm afternoons, it’s just lovely! It makes me want all the pumpkins, kabichas and butternuts! Soon, I’m told!

Until then, there’s tomatoes and peppers and lots of them! Eating soup this time of year is an excellent way to boost your immune system for winter so eat up!

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week!

MTB

It’s 6:30 am and I’m in Avila beach about ready to do a 13 mile mountian bike race. My husband is crazy and is doing a 30 mile ride which is not allowing me the whining allotment I would prefer in such situations. 😂. I’m sure I’ll have lots of good stories for you at the soup booth. Think happy thoughts for us! Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week: Monday in Baywood and Thursday in Morro Bay and Friday in Cambria: 1. Lentil Vegetable 2. Corn Chowder (I’ve got some jalapenos in the smoker right now so it should be eeeeextra tasty!) I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars!
