All of California

So, I just got back from my cousin’s graduation from the Cal Fire academy in Ione, California. We then had to make a few “stops” and by the end of it, I’m pretty sure I drove on every available highway, freeway and county road in CA north of San Francisco.

I’m so happy to be back and I missed you guys on Friday! I’ve been working hard to gather the “not so easy to find” ingredients for this week’s soup which was requested multiple times last week. Wish me luck in the kitchen tomorrow! 😂😉

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week:

Monday in Baywood, Thursday in Morro bay and Friday in cambria:

1. Coconut Lemongrass

2. Turmeric White Bean

I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars!

Hey guys! Quite a wildflower show we are having here this spring, eh? Need help identifying them? Hit up the Cambria Wildflower Show at the Vets Hall where volunteers have collected well over 100 specimens and identified them for you viewing and informational pleasure! Plus, they are serving my soup!

I just returned from my longest bike ride to date and I’m tuckered! I’m looking forward to a good night’s sleep and then getting back into the kitchen bright and early tomorrow morning!

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week:

Monday in Baywood, Thursday in Morro bay:

** no soup this Friday in cambria cause my kitchen is being used that day, I plan to make extra soup on Thursday so come on down, cambria folks!**

1. Tempeh Chili

2. Carrot Ginger

I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars!

Central coast love

Boy oh boy what a beautiful weekend! We hopped back on our mountain bikes this morning and disappeared into the hills with our buddy John and I couldn’t believe it when I looked at the clock and it was 4pm! No wonder I was hungry!

It looks like we may be in for a blustery week so throw on a scarf and come see me at the soup booth!

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week:

Monday in Baywood, Thursday in morro bay and Friday in cambria:

1. Springtime minestrone (no tomatoes)

2. Split pea (yay! I love making split pea!)

I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars!

April showers

Hey you guys! I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday and enjoying the freshly watered grass and the start of the wildflower show!

I treated myself to a new bicycle so I’m looking forward to hitting the open road today (hopefully before the wind picks up).

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week!

Monday in Baywood, Thursday in Morro Bay and Friday in Cambria:

1. Adzuki Bean and Barley

2. Creamy Cauliflower Leek

Also, the new price list is as follows:

16oz paper cup: $6.5

32 oz paper cup: $12

32 oz new Mason jar: $12.5

BYO 32 oz jar: $11

What this means for you: the bring your own jar price will remain the same. The “loaner jar” program will be discontinued. If you forget your jar, we have 32 oz paper cups or you can buy a new jar for $1.50.

I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars!

Happy Easter!

Hey guys! I hope you are all waking up to a happy Easter! Despite the fog, our beaches are packed with visitors for spring break and it’s always so fun watching people experience our little slice of paradise for the first time!

Im looking forward to preparing a new recipe this week! I was inspired by a soup restaurant called Good Stock (@goodstocksoups on instagram) in New York when they posted a beautiful picture of thier version. They recently made my “coconut curried lentil” and I felt so honored to be represented on the east coast!

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week

1. African Peanut and Sweet Potato

2. Kitcharie ( mung beans, wild rice, sundried tomato and dill)

Oh, and the votes are in! The 12oz size will be a thing of the past starting on Thursday or Friday (whenever I run out of my supply of 12 oz cups). A new 32 oz paper size will be available for $12 and the loaner program will be phased out. Mason jars will still be available for purchase for $1.50 ( new lids $.50). This is my big attempt to avoid a price increase for those of you who bring your own jars. Bring your own jar price will remain $11 😁😁.

Winter in one night

Woah guys. That was some rain! My parents measured 11″ in 24 hours at their ranch just behind Cayucos. My dad said he had never seen anything like it. A march miracle indeed. Thank you to the Thursday folks who came out and bought soup dispute the flooding! You guys are troopers!

Also, thank you to the dance class in Cambria who bought out my rainy day leftovers!!

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week:

Monday in Baywood and Thursday in Morro Bay and Friday in Cambria:

1. Mushroom Barley

2. Coconut curried lentil

I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars! Also, I’m thinking of eliminating the 12 oz paper soup size and adding a 32oz size. Your thoughts? My reasoning is that we don’t sell many 12 oz sizes and the 32 oz paper cup could replace the loaner jar program.

Greeeeeeeen!

Finally, you guys! Our hills are green. Like really really green! My husband and I drove up the 101 on Saturday and it was neon along the highway. So thankful. So relieved. Sounds like more is on the way too, I say bring it on!

Hey, also… I’ve been playing with my food lately. Like the photo at the top, I use cloth and linen napkins as backdrops for my soup photos and I’ve gone through my current supply! If you have any single cloth napkins taking up space and you’d like to donate them and see them as a soup backdrop, bring um by the booth!

Here’s what you will find at the soup booth this week (RAIN OR SHINE!!)

1. Turkish Red Lentil

2. Creamy Broccoli

I look forward to seeing you guys and don’t forget your jars!
