Is it finally cooling down? Believe it or not, this California lady is a cold weather lover and this heat wave has not exactly been up my alley! Im looking forward to chilly nights, warm fires and pajamas with feet =). The fun thing about this time of year is the new crop is on it’s way in. For those of you who spotted me hauling the beets for this week’s soup through the farmers market, you know exactly what Im talking about.
I asked farmer, Linda Dela Cruz if she would supply me with 50 bunches of beets for the fennel beet soup this week and, boy, did she ever! A few of them were (no lies) the size of my head. Plus they are sweet and delicious! Needless to say, due to thier size I had ample supply so the fennel soup will run through Monday =).
Monday in Baywood: Fennel Beet with Quinoa and Tuscan White Bean (Jorge’s heirloom tomatoes keep getting better!)
Thursday in Morro Bay and Friday in Cambira: Ayruvedic Dahl (By request) and Carrot Ginger
I look forward to seeing you all and don’t forget your jars!
