My boyfriend, Kaley, told me something interesting about our central coast weather. Offshore or winds coming from the east are caused by the ocean becoming warmer than the air. Apparently (and I’m no meteorologist) the wind is “sucked” towards the warmer water from the cold coastal air which is why we get them predominantly in the fall when the ocean is still a bit warmer and the air cools down….hummmm…interesting. Anyway, its supposed to blow offshore tomorrow so tie your hat on. You will feel the offshore winds predominantly in Morro Bay and Cayucos and less in Cambria and Los Osos because of the way the land faces. we live in an interesting little “nook” here on the central coast.
….and on to soup!
Monday in Baywood, Thursday in Morro Bay and Friday in Cambira: Black Eyed Pea with barley and Cashew Carrot
I look forward to seeing you all and don’t forget your jars! Oh, and I haven’t heard for sure, but I don’t think the “bag ordinance” affects us at the farmers market, if you know better, please let me know! Im all for bringing your own bag though!
