So, I must tell you why I first became intrigued by Morocco. When my boyfriend, Kaley was 13 years old he was on the US surf team and during thier world tour he went to Morocco to surf for an ISA (International Surfing Association) competition. He flew to Africa at 13 years old with no parents, just a few older (older being 17 years old) surfers. His 13 year old unsupervised perspective of Marrakesh is something that should (or perhaps should not) be mentioned in travel magazines. Amongst the locals forcing thier treasures on the Americans and the smells of Moroccan spices, he witnessed a murder in the streets, countless pick pockets, and more naked women than most men see in a lifetime. He experienced the country from a perspective inconcievable by most Americans limited by the constraints of social expectation and politial maturity. He also placed 5th in the world in the competition.
